What Is Your Favorite Thing To Pass The Time? Coming Up With Suitable Hobby Ideas.

What is your favorite past time?  Hobby enthusiasts know that spare time is not to be "spent" but savored.  If you have a pass-time you enjoy, you will never look at your spare time in the same way again.  If you're not sure what pass-time hobby you would or could enjoy, here is the beginning of my Library of Hobby Suggestions and thorough requirements/needs for them.

Many people listen to music as a favorite pass-time.  There is much you can learn about any style of music. You can learn composers, famous melodies, and all about performers past and present. You could even learn a new musical instrument or take up singing if you like in any genre or style. Depending on what you're into, you can learn to play the 'actual' instruments themselves or use computer software to create your own song mixes. You can develop sophisticated tastes in jazz or classical music or collect a large assortment of CD's. Music makes a great pass-time hobby and with all the available music-create software these days, it is very easy and inexpensive to get started. With music these days the possibilities are truly endless and the available products both instrumentally and technologically, are remarkably amazing and also rather simple to use even though it sounds more complicated than it actually is. You can even use your phone or tablets to record yourself playing and other things like music videos and raves. There are so many options in the music industry from the young to the older music enthusiasts and musically talented minds who feel and appreciate good, emotionally numbing musical moments from the heart, body and soul.

A lot of people love animals.  Pets of all sorts can become your hobby.  Perhaps you enjoy watching birds. If you have trouble finding them in the trees to watch, maybe you'd like to get a pair of canaries, a budgie, or a cockatiel.  People who live in the country sometimes become interested in raising ornamental chickens, pigeons, or pheasants.  It is very interesting to watch a mother bird take care of a nest of young chicks. Perhaps you can even raise some prize winners or simply 'attract' certain wild native birds by adding particular things to your gardens in which the birds like eg: food, water in a bird-bath, dangling objects and placing basic bird nests in your trees for them to continue building in order to nest in your yard. Attracting birds is actually very easy and the items needed can be home-made or are available from local pet stores as well as online through Amazon.com and many other place found through online searches. Just please be certain that if you intend on bringing birds to your area, ensure any neighborhood cat owners are informed and offered a cat-collar bell to alert unsuspecting feeding birds of approaching dangers. Thus allowing your yard to become known as a 'safe bird-friendly environment' throughout the local bird community and your yard (as long as you maintain the fresh food and water), will become a bustling, busy regular pit-stop for your local feathered friends.

Dogs make a great hobby, too.  Walking and enjoying a pet dog is one thing, but breeding and raising show dogs is something else entirely.  Show dogs may require a bit of an investment, but many puppies are free.  There is also the aspect of training a dog in obedience.  Dogs give a lot of love back to their owners, too, so if you start a past time hobby of caring for a dog, you will never be lonely.  However, dogs require quite a bit of work and attention, especially when they are being trained, so keeping dogs is not for everyone which also applies to other types of animals also like cats, hamsters (or guinea-pigs), reptiles and amphibians, birds, fish and many more. Fish can be rather expensive to maintain if you have to set up an aquarium from scratch however there are quite a few places locally and online which can assist you to get set-up completely at very low and affordable cost with deals they may have with purchases and such. Buying pets are easy, keeping them alive and healthy is a completely different thing altogether. You must care for creatures that are alive or they will die, even plants in your garden. So if you take on something, that holds a thing as precious as life, make sure you have the ability to commit to it, be responsible, otherwise you may as well have left it alone to begin with. Even those who collect Bonsai trees understand what this means. Life is a delicate thing and staying alive is a difficult and tiring process. If one relies on another to survive, the other is also responsible if it dies in an unnatural fashion. When responsible for another life, it doesn't feel good if that life ends because of your lack of care when you have given your word that you would protect and help it survive, then failed it.
It is a horrible feeling, but yes, it does happen. As long as the action is not deliberate and you do feel bad about it, then all that means is that you are only human and at least you tried without giving-up.

Funnily enough, bargain-hunting is also on the list of popular hobby choices. Visiting garage sales, bidding on E-bay, going to flea-markets or local markets on weekends and picking out any 2nd-hand bargains are all favored pass-times in our cultures history and is still very alive today. Usually people that hold garage-sales are avid gardeners and use their sales as a way to sell home-prepared potted plants and home-grown fruits, vegetables, flowers and home-cooked classic grandmother foods like pickles, chutney, hot-sauces and fruit pies, cakes and slices. Cooking is another very popular hobby which is a very favored hobby for both male and female hobby enthusiasts world-wide. Everyone uses a kitchen somewhere and everyone has to eat something sometime :)

Bicycles, skating, power-walking or jogging can become your favorite time-filler if you're seeking some form of personal achievements and goals.  Hobby bicyclists are becoming more and more common to see cycling along lesser traveled highways seeing the countryside up close and personal.  Bicycling requires a helmet and suitable clothes as well as a small tool kit for roadside repairs.  Or maybe you would enjoy cycling on a smaller scale, simply taking fun rides with your family. The choice is all yours.

Do you like using your hands? Maybe you'd like to try woodworking and furniture building and design. You could design and sew fashionable clothing for kids or adults or even weddings! Get into arts and handy-crafts like knitting, scrap-booking and such. Learn how to make jewelry for your friends and family or sell it and make extra cash :) Write a book the right way using true feeling and an awesome writing pen or get 'techie' and create some 'apps' to submit to the 'App Store' or submit your written stories to the 'Kindle E-Book Store'. You never know you might have a 'hidden talent' you didn't even know you had and end up a little famous or well-known. If not that then you'd be darn proud of yourself if something you created or made with your mind and passion for what you do was bought by others and actually made other people happy, particularly when you read that first good review.

The world is full of interesting things to learn and do.  Don't merely sit back and watch TV or playing video games or living on the 'social networks' constantly. That is very unhealthy as online socializing as great as it is, is also very addictive so learn to restrict yourself to regular healthy doses of the 'cyber-world' keep both feet on the ground firmly standing within realities walls so as to retain your sanity. Get interested in something even if it's taking pictures (you may end up with photos that sell and make you money making you a real photographer), or begin collecting something which one day may appreciate in value for your great-grandchildren to treasure your memory with. Hobbies, along with change, are very good for your mind. In fact, it might even keep you from going senile in your old age (if you're in your later years), if you stay active in a pass-time hobby. It is a great example to our kids and grand-kids if we spend our time doing something with depth and meaning that requires a little bit of work and/or concentration to give oneself the joy of self-satisfaction and pride in oneself when you act or react upon something positively that you do on a regular basis to let-loose and enjoy oneself that also satisfies the soul and puts a smile on your face.
